Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty By Sym-Tech®

The Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty covers road hazard damage to your tires. Road hazards consist of any condition on a public roadway which should not be there. Punctures from potholes, nails, glass and jagged metal, as well as construction materials and road cracks can cause tire failure and are covered under this warranty.

Guarantee

If a road hazard flattens one or more of your tires, simply return to your selling Dealership.  If the tires cannot be safely repaired, new comparable replacement tires will be installed at no cost to you. Replacement tires are not pro-rated. Mounting, balancing and installation are all covered under the Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty with no deductible.

Your winter tires are also covered under your Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty at no additional cost if they are purchased from your selling Dealership.

 Sym-Tech® Nitrogen Tire Inflation

To enhance your Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty, nitrogen for your tires is also included!

Using high purity nitrogen to inflate tires is nothing new. Nitrogen has been used for years to help increase safety and tire performance in airplane tires, military vehicles, race cars, construction and transport vehicles. In fact, all commercial aircraft in North America are required by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to have high purity nitrogen in their tires.

Transport Canada States:
"Without proper maintenance, such as correct inflation pressure, tires could suddenly fail, causing you to lose control of your vehicle"

Benefits of Nitrogen

Nitrogen is a safe, inert, dry gas. Nitrogen helps maintain the correct tire pressure longer and is less susceptible to temperature changes. Compared to oxygen, Nitrogen is a larger molecule and diffuses through the tire wall at a much slower rate. Therefore your tires remain properly inflated for a longer period of time, using less fuel and providing increased safety.

Enhanced Safety

The compressed air traditionally used to inflate tires contains significant amounts of oxygen and moisture. Oxygen in compressed air permeates through the wall of the tire reducing tire pressure. As oxygen seeps through the tire, it oxidizes the rubber causing under-inflation and deteriorated rubber. In addition, oxygen attacks the wheel itself which may result in wheel corrosion and tire pressure loss. Since temperature changes cause regular air to expand and contract more than Nitrogen, tire pressures can change drastically. As temperature drops so does tire pressure, resulting in dangerous under inflation, loss of handling, decreased safety and increased fuel consumption.

Why Use Nitrogen?

  • Enhanced safety
  • Improved fuel efficiency
  • Extended tire life
  • Improved road grip & handling
  • Significant cost saving
  • Environmentally friendly

The Government of Canada States:
"Under-inflated tires increase fuel consumption."
- Transport Canada

"Operating a vehicle with just one tire under-inflated by 56 KPa (8 psi) can reduce the life of the tire by 15,000 km and can increase the vehicle’s fuel consumption by 4%."
- Government of Canada

Environmental Benefits

In North America, over 7 million litres of fuel is wasted each day due to vehicles driven on under inflated tires. Nitrogen keeps tires properly inflated for a longer period of time improving fuel efficiency by up to 4%. Less fuel used not only saves money but reduces carbon emissions. For every one litre of fuel saved, approximately 5 pounds of carbon dioxide is not released into the air we breathe.

Nitrogen also helps tires last longer, reducing the number of tire replacements which means fewer tires end up in the landfill!
